PRIVACY POLICY
What we hold about you, and where
Last updated 17 August 2026
Two different things get confused under one word. This website is a set of pages that knows nothing about you. Our programs, out in the districts, take down names, ages, documents, bank details and photographs — because a certificate and a bank account cannot be issued to nobody. Both are below.
PART ONE
This website
What it collects
Nothing. There are no accounts, no forms, no newsletter and no comment box, so there is no personal information for us to receive.
Cookies
We set none, and we run no analytics or advertising scripts. You will not see a cookie banner here because there is nothing to ask you to consent to.
Our hosting provider
Like every website, ours is served by a hosting company whose servers keep short-lived technical logs — the requested page, the time, a browser identifier and an IP address. We do not read these, join them to anything, or use them to identify visitors.
Links that leave this site
Our Instagram, Facebook and YouTube pages are run on those companies' platforms. Once you follow a link there, their privacy policies apply rather than ours, and if you message us on one of them, that platform can see the message.
If you contact us
We keep what you send — your message and whatever contact details you chose to include — only to reply and carry on the conversation. We do not sell it, rent it, or add it to a mailing list you did not ask for. Ask us to delete it and we will.
PART TWO
Our programs, in a district
What we take down, and why
To enrol somebody in a certified program we usually need: name, age, gender, village and district, phone number, education, and a signature or thumb impression on an attendance register. Depending on the program, the scheme also requires an identity document, bank account details, a photograph, or an enterprise's Udyam number.
We take these for one reason at a time — to enrol a person in a scheme, to issue a certificate in the right name, to open an account, to put a candidate in front of an employer, or to show a funder that the batch we said ran, ran. Not for anything else.
Who else sees it
- The department or agency running the scheme, through its own portal, because that is where enrolment and certification happen.
- The bank or certifying body, where the program ends in an account or a certificate.
- The local organisation delivering the batch with us, limited to the participants in that batch.
- Our funder, in aggregate — how many, which villages, what it cost. Named individuals only where the scheme requires it and the person has agreed.
We do not sell participant data, share it with lenders or marketers, or hand a list to anyone who asks.
Identity documents
Where a scheme requires an Aadhaar or another identity document, we collect only what that scheme requires, use it only for that enrolment, and do not keep copies beyond what the scheme obliges us to keep. Nobody is required to give us a document for a program that does not need one.
Photographs and stories
Photographs, video and written stories are taken only with the person's knowledge and consent, and the terms are in our safeguarding rules. Consent can be withdrawn — tell us, and the image comes off our channels.
Children
Where a program involves anyone under 18, we work through their school or guardian, take a guardian's consent for photographs, and publish no detail that would let a stranger identify or find a child.
How long we keep it
As long as the scheme, the funder's agreement or the law requires, and no longer. Registers and enrolment records connected to a government scheme are kept for the period that scheme specifies; anything we took and no longer need is destroyed.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where no scheme or law requires us to keep it, and withdraw a consent you gave. Reach us through the contact page and we will answer within 30 days. This is how we meet our obligations under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Keeping it safe
Access is limited to the people running that program. We do not carry participant lists on personal phones as loose photographs, and partner organisations are bound by the same rules in their agreement with us. If information is ever lost or exposed, we will say so — to the people affected and to the Board under the Act.
When this changes
The Foundation is new and this website will grow. If we add a form, an analytics tool, a map or a way to donate, this page is updated before that goes live, and the date at the top will say so.
